China's rapid urbanization and consumption upgrade are making a growing number of people realize that being physically attractive places them in a more advantageous position, both at workplace and in daily life.

Already one of the world's largest, China's aesthetic medicine market value stood at 143.6 billion yuan ($20.5 billion) in 2020, and is expected to hit 318.5 billion yuan in 2024, with the compound annual growth rate reaching 17.3 percent, according to a study released by consultancy Frost&Sullivan.

According to CBNData, 91.3 percent of those aged between 22 and 32 years old who were interviewed for a survey in 2020 chose aesthetic medicine as the primary way to fight against aging, followed by skincare and workout. There are 100,000 companies in the field of beauty devices, with eight out of 10 of them having registered in the past five years.

Underpinned by people's increasing acceptance, the domestic market outlook for minimally invasive aesthetic medicine-like dermal fillers, laser therapy and other nonsurgical procedures-is expanding quickly.
