Harbin zones achieve breakthroughs in industrial development

The Harbin Economic Development Zone and Pingfang district in the jurisdiction of Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, achieved historical breakthroughs in industrial development last year.

In 2022, the output value of industries above designated size in the Harbin Economic Development Zone and Pingfang district exceeded 100 billion yuan ($14.93 million), seeing a year-on-year increase of 6.5 percent. The industrial fixed-asset investment in the two places increased by 11.8 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

Last year, the two places added 30 industrial enterprises above the designated size. Among their total industrial enterprises above designated size, the number of high-tech enterprises reached 500, accounting for one-fifth of Harbin’s total and setting a record high.

In 2022, the two places promoted 141 industrial projects, which had an investment of 2.54 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.8 percent.

During the same period, a total of eight provincial-level digital demonstration workshops were added, bringing the total number of such workshops in the two places to 32.

Another two new enterprises were rated as national green factories, and the total number of national green factories among the two places has reached 11.

Meanwhile, nine new enterprises were titled as provincial-level green manufacturing enterprises, which account for 35 percent of the city's total.

Moreover, six enterprises were selected as industrial design centers in Harbin, accounting for 43 percent of the city's total.

Additionally, in 2022, the two places added 10 provincial-level engineering technology research centers, one provincial-level key laboratory, six provincial-level enterprise technology centers, and 11 municipal-level enterprise technology centers. The total number of R&D institutions that are municipal-level and above in the two places reached 169.
