Guangxi ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone (GAETDZ) is located in the Wuming district, only 30 kilometers away from downtown Nanning, the capital city of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Established in March 2004, it was upgraded to a national development zone and renamed on March 2, 2013. It was listed as a national demonstration pilot zone for circular economy reform in 2015.The development zone enjoys an advantageous location, bordering Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the east and the Southeast Peninsula in the west. The location gives it a broad market and it can enjoy the benefits brought about by the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.The development zone has gathered more than 700 industrial and commercial enterprises, such as Budweiser and COFCO, including nearly 500 businesses and 128 industries above the designated size.The zone is dominated by three major industries of food processing, environmental protection and home furnishing, and biomedicine. It is supplemented by machinery, electronics, new precision manufacturing materials and emerging industries. The zone is moving toward high-speed development integrating industries and cities.The zone will continue to seek progress while maintaining stability, strengthening capital, and promoting the comprehensive development of economic and social work.
