German chipmaker Infineon Technologies AG will amplify their push to tap into the opportunities of low carbon and digitalization in China.

David Poon, president of Infineon Greater China Region, said "We believe low carbon and digitalization are the main forces shaping the next decade."

According to him, Infineon's China branch is committed to building a local ecosystem with global service capabilities that can increase customer value and promote the coordinated development of all parties in the industrial chain in a win-win result.

The German chip company will promote the rapid development of low-carbon and digital technology through continuous and comprehensive innovation in products, applications, and business models to create a better future together with partners, Poon said.

According to the statistics of Omdia, a British research company, Infineon ranks first in the global power semiconductors industry, followed by US company Onsemias.

Power semiconductors are widely used for power conversion, characterized by a variety of applications including not only for pure electric vehicles, but also for household appliances, transportation, industry and other sectors.

From the perspective of market demand, China's low-carbon drive has brought new demand for energy conservation and the reduction of emissions. The digitalization of infrastructure is still in progress, resulting in a rapid growth in demand for power chips.
