I have learnt a lot from the two years of participating in the China International Import Expo, which enables global business to enter the huge Chinese market and inject energy into the international business community.

The organization of the annual CIIE could not have been better timed. Affected by COVID-19, Chinese service enterprises are in dire need of high-quality products from around the world.

Founded in 1994, the China General Chamber of Commerce is an industry organization registered with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It is the most comprehensive and large-scale industry organization in the circulation field consisting of manufacturers, sales corporations and other kinds of enterprises and public institutions.

At the previous two editions of the CIIE, the CGCC was commissioned by the CIIE Bureau to invite visitors from commerce and services sectors.

To attract more professional visitors, CGCC advertised information about CIIE's exhibitors and exhibits and staged roadshows and other supporting activities for the expo.

For example, we hosted the second International Forum on Quality Life last year to promote high-quality consumption and boost high-quality development in China. At the forum, experts and entrepreneurs shared their ideas about the consumption upgrading and brand development trends in China.

We also facilitated exchanges between our invited visitors and exhibitors during the expo.

In 2020, CGCC invited 116 enterprises and 260 visitors to attend the third edition of CIIE, when six of these enterprises inked purchase intention contracts worth a combined $57.868 million.

Last year, we gathered 128 enterprises and 248 visitors for the expo, and purchase intention contracts worth $21.9381 million were signed by four of these enterprises.

The CIIE has also been pivotal in helping Chinese commercial enterprises find more suppliers. For example, Hubei Huangshang Group Co Ltd managed to forge cooperation relations with more than 20 foreign enterprises through the expo.

I have also received positive feedback from participating enterprises, which have said that the CIIE is an ideal platform to learn about the latest trends and developments in different industries across the globe.
