Baotou industrial enterprises, with the support of the internet and digitalization, have promoted the city's industrialization process over the past 10 years.

Baotou has already benchmarked against the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Industrial Internet Innovation and Development Action Plan", and successfully applied for two second-level nodes – which are contracted by First Machinery Group and Baogang Group – of the national industrial internet identification analysis system.

The second-level node of First Machinery Group's identification analysis has been officially launched. There are currently 432 registered users and 6,158 identification resolutions.

Zheng Hong, deputy head of the preparatory team of First Machinery Group CNC Industrial Internet Technology Co, said that after passing the national industrial internet identification secondary node, they would make a new plan for the Inner Mongolia equipment manufacturing cloud platform, and the group would build a first-class industrial internet platform in the autonomous region and throughout the country.

In the first half of this year, the city continued to cultivate and organize 65 projects, including Baogang's second-level node for identification and analysis in two batches to apply for special projects for key industries in the autonomous region. "So far, nine projects have received 16.08 million yuan ($2.33 million) in support from the autonomous region," said the person in charge of the relevant department of the municipal bureau of industry and information technology.

Additionally, as the key direction of Baotou's industrial digital development, the construction and development of the industrial internet platform has begun to take shape. Since 2021, 171 enterprise digitalization projects have been promoted in the city.
