Jinpu lays foundation for a base of new chemical materials ​

The foundation ceremony for Songmudao new chemical materials pilot-scale base was held on June 30 in Dalian, heralding the first pilot-scale base of new chemical materials in Northeast China. The pilot-scale base will be located in the Songmudao chemical industrial development zone of the Puwan Economic Zone, Jinpu New Area.

The pilot-scale base project has a total investment of 450 million yuan ($66.72 million), and covers an area of 10 hectares. It will build pilot-scale workshops, warehousing service facilities, intelligent management platforms, public testing centers and supporting infrastructure.

Once finished, the project will help enterprises in Dalian and Liaoning in their technological innovation of new chemical materials and build a national pilot-scale base of new materials.

Dozens of universities, research institutes and enterprises established a Dalian new chemical materials industry-university-research alliance at the ceremony.

On the sideline of the ceremony, the Puwan Economic Zone management committee signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Dalian institute of Chemicals and Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Chemical Society.

A symposium on high-end optical resin materials and a forum on innovation and development were also held after the ceremony.
