Wanding Border Economic Cooperation Zone

Wanding Border Economic Cooperation Zone was approved by the State Council on Sept 26, 1992. Located in western Yunnan province and covering 103 square kilometers, the zone plays an important role in connecting China to Southeast Asian countries.

The zone has unique geographical advantage and superior business conditions, backing to the Southwest China and facing the Southeast Asia and international market. The zone is almost 800 square kilometers away from the province capital of Kunming, 67 km away from the Mangshi Airport and 987 km away from the Yangon, the capital of Myanmar.

The key developing fields of the zone are trade and logistics service industry, tourism culture industry as well as bio-pharmaceutical, food processing and natural gas energy industries.

In 2015, the zone achieved a total fixed asset investment of 339 million yuan ($50.51 million), a total industrial output of 31.32 million yuan, an import-export volume of 1.35 billion yuan and tax revenue of 56 million yuan.
