Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 1992 and upgraded to a national development zone approved by the State Council in 2000. The zone covers an area of 229 square kilometers and has a population of 400,000.

After 25 years of rapid development, the zone has constructed an area of 85 square kilometers and formed industries ranging from new energy automotive and automotive parts, electronic information, bio-medicine and household appliances to new materials, attracting more than 4,000 companies from 17 countries and regions.

There are abundant human resources. There are 17 universities, 19 scientific research institutes and 6 technical institutes in the zone, including Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, East China Jiaotong University, Jiangxi Agricultural University and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, which altogether are home to about 250,000 college and vocational college students, providing high-end human resources and innovative intellectual resources to the zone’s enterprises.
