Yichun Economic and Technological Development Zone

Yichun Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in September 2003 and upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone in January 2013. It covers an area of 27.01 square kilometers, and the completed area is about 24 square kilometers. There are more than 400 industrial enterprises and about 60,000 residents.

After years of development, the zone has gradually formed an industrial system focused on new energy, new material and electronic information. It has given priority to developing the lithium power industry and has attracted more than 100 companies. In 2017, the main business income of lithium-power new energy industry exceeded 10 billion yuan ($1.48 billion), an increase of 42.2 percent over the previous year.

In recent years, the zone has adhered to the strategy of innovation-driven development and actively promoted cooperation among companies, universities and scientific research institutions to enhance the companies’ capability in scientific research and innovation with strengthened policy support and guidance. In 2017, there was one public innovation space and three science and technology small and medium enterprises approved as national-level in the zone. It has 62 national high-tech enterprises and six provincial-level scientific and technological collaborative innovators.
