Neijiang National Economic and Technological Development Zone

Neijiang National Economic and Technological Development Zone was founded in 1992, and was one of the first provincial-level development zones. It was upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone in November 2013.

Covering a total area of 74.9 square kilometers and completed area of 24 square kilometers, the zone is a demonstration area for modern manufacturing and integration of industries and city development. It has forged an advanced industrial system of mechanical spare parts, electronic information, biological medicine, e-commerce and modern logistics.

It has been awarded many titles including "The Manufacturing Base for China's Auto (Motorcycle) Parts", "The Supporting Facility Base for Electronic Information Industries in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic District", "A 50-billion Key Industrial Park in Sichuan's '51025' Plan", "A Demonstration Park for Information Security in Sichuan" and "A Incubator for High-Tech Enterprises in Sichuan".

In 2017, the GDP growth rate of the zone achieved 8.3 percent, with the figures for the added value of the above-scale industries and fixed-asset investment rising by 7.7 percent and 12.2 percent respectively. The zone is home to 1,743 enterprises.
