Loudi Economic Development Zone, in Loudi, Hunan province, was established by the provincial government in 1992 and was elevated to the national level upon approval from the State Council in 2013. It is rated as the most influential development zone in Hunan.

Covering an area of 2,333 hectares in northern Loudi, the zone is a pilot area for automobile manufacturing, information technology, industrial transformation, technological innovation, and startup incubation.

In recent years, with the goal of building a strong economic zone and a new waterfront city suitable for industry, livability, and tourism, Loudi Economic Zone has  been integrating industrial and business development, livable neighborhoods, and tourism industries. Its pillar industries include down-stream processing, new materials and clean energy, automatic manufacturing, and electricity supply. To date, the zone is home to 116 enterprises above designated size, those with annual sales of more than 5 million yuan, or $744,371.

In 2017, Loudi Economic Development Zone saw an industrial output of 62.61 billion yuan, surging by 45.02 percent year on year. The added value of enterprises above designated scale rose by 15 percent to a total of 11.74 billion yuan, about two third of which came from the hi-tech sector. 

It is expected that the zone's GDO and industrial output could respectively reach 200 and 100 billion yuan by 2020.
