Shijiazhuang Economic and Technical Development Zone

Shijiazhuang Economic and Technical Development Zone was established in 1992 and was upgraded to a national-level development zone in 2013, with a planned area of 26 square kilometers.

The zone was designated by the National Development and Reform Commission as a national biology industrial base in 2005 and was elected as one of the top 10 destinations in Shijiazhuang in 2007. In 2009, the zone ranked sixth among 48 development zones in Hebei province in terms of comprehensive capacity and won a provincial award of advanced development zone in 2011.

It is now home to more than 30 biomedical companies, 20 machinery manufacturers and 10 food processing and tobacco companies. In 2009, the zone's total industrial output value reached 4 billion yuan ($589.28 million) and its fiscal revenue totaled 1.12 billion yuan.
