Hulunbuir National Economic and Technological Development Zone, which is located in the north of downtown Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is one of three national-level development zones in the region. With a planned area of 105.5 square kilometers, it plays a core role in the industrial development of the city.

The zone was approved by the municipal government in November 2011 through combining Hulunbuir Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hulunbuir Industrial Park, Chen Barga Banner Industrial Park and Hailaar Industrial Base. In March 2012, it was recognized by the regional government and on March 2, 2013, it was upgraded to a national-level zone by the State Council.

The zone borders Russia and Mongolia in the north and connects to Northeast China's Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces in the south. By the end of 2018, there were 187 firms in the zone, and 14 of them were above designated size, including several startups and giant State-owned firms like China Resources Co, Datang Corporation and Guohua Power.

The zone is committed to developing into the most dynamic area for economic growth, innovation and entrepreneurship in Hulunbuir, with a focus on the industries of new equipment, new energy, new materials, timber processing, green food, light industry, cloud computing and logistics services.
