Quanzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, formerly known as Quanzhou Export Processing Zone, was approved by the State Council in 2005. In 2016, it was upgraded into a comprehensive bonded zone, the only national-level special zone supervised by the customs authority in Quanzhou, Fujian province.

The zone enjoys excellent geographic location and a well-developed transportation network. It is located in the north of National Highway 324, with Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport, Fuzhou-Xiamen High-speed Railway, a freeway entrance and the port area all within a service radius of 15 kilometers.

The zone mainly engages in the following eight businesses: storage of import and export goods, as well as uncustomed goods; foreign trade; international procurement and distribution; international transfer; testing and after-sale services; product exhibition; research and development, processing and manufacturing, and other businesses approved by the customs authority.

Currently, there are a total of 62 firms and projects based in the zone, including the Fortune 500 firm Dunlop Taikoo (Jinjiang) Aircraft Tyres, the international distribution center of China Post, Vanke Logistics and ZTO Express. Major industries in the zone cover aviation repair, high-end printing, optoelectronics, ceramic inkjet machinery, alcohol and food, bonded warehousing, e-commerce, and import and export trade.

According to Quanzhou customs, the total output value of the zone' firms above designated size reached 7.6 billion yuan ($1.1 billion) in 2016, nine times as much of that in 2011. The value of import and export declarations was 4.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 50.8 percent.
