Shenyang Economic-Technological Development Zone

Located in the southwest of Shenyang, Liaoning province, Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established on June 1988, with the total planned area of 444 square kilometers, of which 145 square kilometers has been developed today.

Upon the approval of the State Council, it was promoted to State-level in April 1993. After decades of development, the zone has attracted foreign investors from 43 countries and regions, 90 multinational companies have launched factories here, 32 of which are among the Fortune Global 500.

Its five pillar industries are equipment manufacturing, automobile and energy, pharmaceutical chemicals, food and beverage with packaging, as well as textile dyeing.

From 1993 to 2012, 2,234 projects were carried out in the zone, with a total investment of 184 billion yuan ($26.47 billion). The zone achieved a cumulative GDP of 140.25 billion yuan. The total industrial output value reached 386.38 billion yuan, with tax revenue of 13.99 billion yuan, and export earnings of $3.86 billion.
