Weifang Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone

Founded in the year 1991, Weifang Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone was approved as a national high-tech zone in 1992. Sitting in the Bohai Economic Rim, Weifang is a key node city connecting the eastern coastal cities and inland areas, boasting a three-dimensional transportation network, covering high speed electrified railways, expressways, airports and seaports.  

The zone covers an area of 110 square kilometers and has a population of 296,000. Having constructed nine national and 17 provincial characteristic industrialization bases, the zone has attracted 114 new high-tech enterprises covering power equipment, life health, software information, advanced materials and emerging industries.

In the first half of this year, the zone earned 6.3 billion yuan ($915.93 million) in general financial revenue and its public budget revenues hit 3.2 billion yuan.
