Jilin Economic＆Technological Development Area

Jilin Economic＆Technological Development Area is the only national pilot base for patent industrialization in Northeast China. The area covers 103 square kilometers, equipped with convenient transportation and logistics, self-contained supporting facilities and efficient services. In 2016, it was approved as a "national demonstration zone for city-industry integration" and the first "national demonstration zone for general aviation". 

By the end of 2016, it has attracted 753 enterprises, including 17 foreign-invested enterprises and 88 large-scale industrial enterprises. 

The year 2016 was a good year for the growth of the fine chemicals industry in the area. The development area is home to 48 industrial enterprises above a designated size in this field, with more than 200 varieties of products in 74 categories. The total output reached nearly 3 million tons during the year, realizing a value of 26.46 billion yuan ($3.82 billion).

The pharmaceutical industry has been developing rapidly, with the annual output value reaching 1.14 billion yuan, an increase of 19.4 percent year-on-year. Solid progress was also made in the aviation industry. The modern service industry also had good growth, with an increasing number of international logistics enterprises.

In 2017, Jilin Economic＆Technological Development Area contributed 8.9 billion yuan to the regional GDP, an increase of 7.5 percent. The added value of industries above a designated scale reached 6.49 billion yuan, with growth of 7 percent. Fixed asset investment was 17.88 billion yuan. Total retail sales of consumer goods reached 970 million yuan, up by 3.1 percent year-on-year. It attracted investments of 15.1 billion yuan, including $122 million of foreign capital, up 8 percent year-on-year.
