The outstandingly beautiful city of Chengde in Hebei province, with its UNESCO World Heritage Site listed Chengde Mountain Resort, and its recently upgraded national-level Chengde Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, has an unparalleled reputation for inspiration and innovation.

The zone, covering an area of more than 300 square kilometers, was originally established in 1992 as a provincial-level development zone approved by the Hebei provincial government. It can be divided into three parts: the core area, the port and the Shangbancheng industry park. Companies' headquarters, a relaxation and business district, a high-speed rail station and the Yanyingzi exhibition area are situated in the core area.

The zone is a wonderful place to do business with a complete chain of supportive industries and favorable policies after a development of more than 20 years. Its major economic indicators have been maintaining an average annual growth rate of over 20 percent since its establishment.

The industries of food and beverages, pharmaceutical manufacturing, intelligent instruments, equipment manufacturing, and auto parts are the five leading industries in the zone.

The zone also seeks to develop its health industry, intelligence industry, new material industry, new energy industry and modern service industry, which conforms to the national strategic emerging industry plan, to benefit the local, regional and national economy.
