Kunming Dianchi National Tourism Resort

Kunming Dianchi National Tourism Resort is one of the 12 national-level tourism resorts in China and was approved to found by the State Council in 1992. The resort is the only one among the 12 located in an inland province.

Covering 47.5 square kilometers, the resort has a total population of 110,000 and has established a raft of tourist projects, including sightseeing, leisure, fitness and entertainment and business conference.

In 2012, the resort achieved an industrial added value of 13.11 billion yuan ($1.96 billion), up by 23.5 percent year-on-year; total financial revenue of 3.79 billion yuan, and its local government budget revenue has exceeded one billion yuan for the first time in the same year.

The tourists received by the resort has outnumbered 10 million, accounting for 22.5 percent of the total tourists received by the whole Kunming city, which has generated a tourist revenue of 1.06 billion yuan, up 21.2 percent year-on-year.
