Guangxi Pingxiang Border Economic Cooperation Zone was founded in 1992 with the approval of the State Council.

Located at the southern part of the city, the zone covers 7.2 square kilometers and is 168 kilometers from Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, and 8 kilometers from the Youyiguan border gate.

The zone has adopted a "one district and four parks" development strategy, consisting of the Nanshan industrial park, Wantong logistics park, Linchan industrial park and Youyiguan industrial park.

It has become a processing and expansion area for cooperation between China and Vietnam with core industries such as international logistics and processing of agricultural and sideline product and rosewood and other forestry products.
