Guiyang Free Trade Zone, located in Baiyun district, Guiyang, Guizhou province, was approved by the State Council in September 2013. With a total planning area of 10.83 square kilometers, the FTZ boasts the most comprehensive functions and the most favorable policies among its kind.

Focusing on innovation and opening-up, Guiyang Free Trade Zone has made significant progress in industries such as export processing, bonded logistics, trade in service, smart manufacturing, and big data.

The zone currently consists of many functional areas, including five industrial parks: the International Pharmaceutical Industry Park, the International Advanced Manufacturing Industry Park, the Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park, the Swiss (Guizhou) Industrial Demonstration Park, and the Modern Logistics Park. It also has three service centers: the Exhibition and Trade Center, the Big Data Innovation Center, and the High-end Service Center.

The free trade zone is home to more than 1,500 enterprises, including many Fortune 500 companies. HP, Foxconn, Sinopharm Group, IZP, Isoftstone, and UBS have opened regional headquarters or offices in the area.

As of the end of 2017, Guiyang Free Trade Zone has received an actual amount of 7.7 billion yuan through investment attraction, utilized $400 million of foreign investment, and totaled 4.93 billion in foreign trade.
