Founded in 1992, Jincheng Economic and Technological Development Area is situated in the southwest of Shanxi province. The zone was approved as a provincial level industrial park in 1997 and upgraded to national level in March 2013. 

Covering an area of 9 square kilometers, it is equipped with a cross-linked transportation network and extensive supporting service facilities, making it the most ideal industrial investment area in Jincheng city. Dubbed "a window opening to the outside world" and "an incubation base for the high and new technology industry", the area provides investors with preferential policies in lots of aspects, including tax breaks, land utilization and project approval.

In order to speed up the pace of economic restructuring, the area has given valuable support to new high-tech enterprises. It encourages the development of promising enterprises with high value-added products and good market prospects.

In the first quarter of 2017, the added value of industries above a designated scale reached 590 million yuan ($86 million) and the fixed-asset investment hit 880 million yuan, with a growth rate 20.4 percent and 5 percent respectively.
