Daqing Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in Heilongjiang province started construction on April 10, 1992 and was included in the list of state-level high-tech zones that same year. Covering an area of 251.26 sq km, it has a population of 180,000.

It is an ideal place for living and working, since it is mainly located in the downtown area where it has a cluster of three chemical industry parks, Hongwei, Xinghua and Linyuan, which stretch into the hinterland of the Daqing petroleum and petrochemical industries.

With its resources and supporting facilities it boasts a strong capacity for industrial development.

The Zone’s economy made steady progress in the first half of 2018, when its GDP and the added-value of its secondary and tertiary industries have seen year-on-year growth respectively at 16.8 percent, 17.4 percent and 14.1 percent; the added-value of the industries above the designated size was 5.5 billion yuan ($811.21 million), a record high for the last five years.

Looking to the future, the zone recently received an investment of 2.9 billion yuan and has started the construction of 16 major industrial projects.
