Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone

Located in the downtown area of Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei province, Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone was approved as a State-level high-tech industrial development zone by the State Council on March 6, 1991.

The zone governs two sub-districts, two towns and a sci-tech entrepreneurship park, consisting of 26 villages and 14 communities*. It covers 78.6 sq km with a registered permanent population of 140,000 and about 180,000 residents*.

As a cluster of high-tech industries and pilot area of opening-up and innovation of Shijiazuang, the zone is home to three major industries -- bio-medicine, electronic information and advanced equipment manufacturing.

In 2016, it realized the gross revenue of 23.12 billion yuan ($3.61 billion), an increase of 15.3 percent year-on-year; the gross domestic production of 21.935 billion yuan, up by 7.6 percent.
