Wuxi National Integrated Circuit (IC) Designing Industrial Park was launched during the IC industrial summit in Wuxi Hi-tech district on May 29.

Wuxi is seen as a national center for micro-electronics, as well as one of China's seven industrial centers for IC designing, and it is hoped the park will improve production chain processes.

A total of 13 leading IC designing companies signed to join the new designing industrial park during the summit, including Allwinner Technology, Will Semiconductor Company, Shanghai Awinic Technology Company, United DS Semiconductor(Shandong)Company and IC Café.

"Wuxi High-tech district is the main cluster area of Wuxi's integrated circuit industry. It concentrates about 80 percent of IC companies and 70 percent of integrated circuit industry output in the city", said Huang Qin, acting mayor of Wuxi.

"Wuxi will take advantage of its IoT and IC industries to accelerate its development in the city and in the country", Huang said.

The number of IC companies in Wuxi, which are involved in a number of fields including circuit designing, wafer manufacturing, package testing, matched equipment and materials, has exceeded 200.

The Wuxi Hi-tech district established a fund for new energy development with a total of 5 billion yuan ($778 million) raised during the summit, signaling that huge investments are being made in the IC industry.

The increasing numbers and progress of the IC and IoT industries in the area has helped stimulate the growth of high-end software, smart cities, and information infrastructure sectors.

Wuxi has implemented two new policies on Feb 6 for the Internet of Things (IoT) and integrated circuit (IC) industries, implementing a comprehensive support system that encourages the growth of industrial development and technological innovation in companies in the city that are in these industries.
