​Shenyang establishes new hospital to serve foreign patients

Foreign employees working in Shenyang will have a new choice for professional medical services starting on Dec 22, as the Shenyang branch of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital officially commenced operations in Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The Shenyang hospital is located at the cluster of the city's high-end equipment manufacturing industry, where over 5,000 businesses, including 200 foreign capital-funded businesses, set factories and workshops.

There are about 600,000 domestic and foreign employees working and living in the area, while there aren't any large scale hospitals available, especially those for foreign staffs.

"Patients in emergency may lose their lives if they miss the prime rescue time, usually within 80 minutes. While, the newly-opened hospital will provide a perfect solution," said Dai Jingxin, general manager of the Shenyang hospital, when he mentioned the importance of establishing a large scale hospital in the region.

The Shenyang hospital covers an area of approximately 200,000 square meters, providing a total of 2,000 hospital beds. Experts from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital will conduct long term diagnosis and treatment in the Shenyang branch.

Established on Jan 28, 1956, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital enjoys a good reputation of its advanced clinical technology and research in the fields of spine surgery, trauma, adult joint, hand surgery, pediatric, bone tumor and sports medicine.

The establishment of the Shenyang hospital will help patients who had to go to Beijing to seek professional medical services save money and time for traveling between the two cities. It will also help Shenyang improve its comprehensive competitiveness on attracting global skilled workers.
